West Midlands life expectancy still lags behind the South as health gap widens

People in Coventry and the West Midlands continue to die earlier than those in the south of England, and the gap is getting wider, new King's Fund analysis has revealed. Life expectancy hit record highs in 2025 but the gains were not shared equally, with northern and deprived areas falling further behind their southern counterparts.
